Dr. John C. Cates
Dr. JC Cates was born in Anchorage, Alaska and graduated from West High School in 1972. When he was 27 years old, he had a dream that changed the course of his life. He attended Western University of Health Sciences in East Los Angeles. His first residency was in pediatrics at The University of Oregon and he subsequently took a year of internal medicine in Boise, Idaho through The University of Washington program. He finished up a 2 year family practice residency through The University of Washington in 1991. J.C. is certified in sports medicine and cares for all types of musculoskeletal injuries, including the neck and the back. He understands the importance of exercise and diet in the prevention of mental and physical diseases. Dr. Cates enjoys caring for Alaskan families from infancy into adulthood. Dr. Cates is very active and rides his bike to work year-round. He is also involved in third world medical missions and these opportunities have increased his interest in travel medicine and immunizations. Third world experiences have given him a perspective on the impact of stress on health in America.
